New Nielsen data puts shopkick as the fourth-most-used shopping app and the 34 most used app overall. The December 2012 data comes out as shopkick hits its first one-billion product views in version 3.0.
Nielsen puts shopkick top in the time spent in-app per month, at 2 hours and 37 minutes, the highest time per session, at 7 minutes, and number of sessions per month, at 22.
shopkick says users viewed one billion products in Q4 2012, with each user averaging more than 100 product views per day.
As Inside Social Commerce reported in October, the three-year-old app got a serious makeover. Focused on visual queues, shopkick 3.0 was described as an interactive Sunday circular. Shopping users are rewarded with points, called “kicks”, that can unlock exclusive discounts and items.
The shopping app recently announced it was profitable. In fourth place, shopkick currently trails behind Amazon, eBay and Groupon – not bad company to be in. According to AppData, shopkick is no. 42 on the Apple Top Free Apps Lifestyle Genre charts.
